Results: Greater than 100 WBC's/hpf || Numerous small pleomorphic gram variable rods || Moderate "Clue Cells" || (Numerous sperm cells) not reported
Note: "Clue cells" are the large squamous epithelial cells which are infected with numerous numbers of gram positive rods. Observation of these "clue cells" in a vaginal and/or cervical smear is highly suggestive of Gardnerella vaginalis. |
